The former president of the United States, who aspires to be the Republican candidate again in 2024, has uploaded a video to Facebook and YouTube, after two years with the accounts suspended for incitement to violence
Donald Trump is active again on YouTube and Facebook, after two years with suspended accounts, following the assault on the United States Congress on January 6, 2021.
He did it with a plain and short message: “I’m back” –“I’m back”–. He accompanies it with a 12-second video that begins with CNN footage from the moment he was elected president of the United States in 2016. Trump says: “I’m sorry to keep you waiting. Complications…”.
And it ends with a poster with the electoral message, where he recovers the slogan he already chose then, with the new date: “Trump 2024. Make America Great Again”.
Meta, Mark Zuckerberg’s company, reinstated Trump’s Instagram and Facebook accounts in late January. In a statement, the social network claimed that the risk to public safety had decreased.
In the case of YouTube, where he shared the same video, the recovery of Trump’s account was announced this Friday. “We’ve carefully assessed the risk of real-world violence while balancing the possibility that voters will hear from leading national candidates before an election,” YouTube said in a statement. In this network, Trump has more than 2.6 million subscribers.
In November, the former American president also recovered the Twitter account, suspended for incitement to violence. It was after a survey of network users that Elon Musk shortly after buying it. In this case, however, Trump has not yet tweeted.
Having a presence again on these three social networks will allow the former president to reach a total of 146 million followers to campaign for the presidency in 2024.
During the time he has not been able to access it, the former president has used his own platform, a network called Truth Social, which he created at the end of 2021. He has about 5 million followers.
Trump says he will be arrested on Tuesday

Precisely, through this social network, this Saturday the former Republican president said that he believes he will be arrested on Tuesday as part of the investigation into the payment of money to the porn film star Stormy Daniels.
It is based on alleged “illegal leaks from a corrupt and highly politicized Manhattan DA’s office that has allowed new records to be set in violent crimes and whose leader is funded by George Soros.”
Trump calls on citizens to protest: “Protest, take back our nation.”
The nearly five-year Manhattan investigation centers on an alleged $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence during the 2016 White House campaign. The secret payment was allegedly intended to prevent her from releasing an alleged sexual relationship with the then-presidential candidate.
