The companion was injured and was taken to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida
A 22-year-old man died this Friday morning when the car he was driving left the road for reasons that are being investigated.
The victim, a resident of Massoteres, in La Segarra, died at the scene. His companion, who was traveling in the front seat, was less seriously injured and was taken to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida.
The accident happened around half past one in the morning, at kilometer 4.1 of the L-310 road in Tàrrega, in l’Urgell, when the car left the road, according to the Catalan Service of Traffic (SCT).
The Mossos received notice of the incident at 00.35 and five Mossos patrols and two ambulances from the Medical Emergency System (SEM) were activated.

While the rescue work has been going on, traffic has been affected and an alternative route has been given until three-quarters of the morning. With this victim, there are 36 people who have died in traffic accidents this year on the interurban road network in Catalonia.
